Cherwell Cycling

Cherwell Go Ride

Cherwell Go Ride acts as a gateway for Cherwell Students to enjoy cycling as a lifetime pursuit and a sport. We encourage students as they progress to join local clubs. Cherwell CC is in partnership with Zappi’s Cycling Club and offers a pathway from playground to podium, with young riders having opportunities to join the Zappi’s Youth team as a route into the women’s team and pro team. Please be advised to get parental support and contact the club before you attend their events – to check they are suitable and that you bring the right equipment along. The club was able to start with financial assistance from Sport England and the PTA.

Watt Bike League

During the winter months The Cherwell School hosts a Watt Bike League with British Cycling.

For those students who regularly attend we try to ensure that you get a try out on nearby tracks – visiting Reading outdoor track and Newport’s indoor Velodrome last year; funding for these trips was provided by Sport England and coaching support from Zappi’s Cycling Club.
